Update SlideShowPro

Open the SlideShowPro .fla you are working with in Flash.

Select to Window/Component Inspector or Shift + F7.

Scroll to the bottom and change the XML File Path value to the absolute path to your XML file. I am using the following.

/wp-content/themes/default/gallery.xml

Update XML Image Path

Open your gallery XML file and change the lgpath value to the path where your slideshow images are located. I am using the path below used in conjunction with the XML File Path set above.

/wp-content/themes/default/slideshow/gallery1/

Done

Export your movie and your gallery should start.

Resources

There are plugins available that help with deeper integration with Wordpress such as Slide Press. You might want to check those out if you want to manage the images directly from Wordpress.

You can use any MySQL tool you have available, my favorite is Navicat.

Options Table

The options table stores all of the main settings for your blog. You will need to update the URLs that were originally set during installation as well as where your uploads are stored.

Update URLs

UPDATE wp_options
SET option_value = 'http://www.yourwebsite.com'
WHERE option_name = 'siteurl'
	AND option_name = 'home'

Update Upload Path

UPDATE wp_options
SET option_value = 'wp-content/uploads'
WHERE option_name = 'upload_path'

Galleries

If you have galleries in your posts you will need to update the URLs for the images to your production URL.

Update Image URLs

NOTE: The ‘localhost’ value below should match what you entered during installation on your development/staging server.

UPDATE wp_posts
SET guid = REPLACE(guid, 'localhost', 'www.yourwebsite.com')
WHERE post_type = 'attachment'
	AND post_mime_type = 'image/jpeg'

Create your custom page

For this example, <doc root>/test.php.

Update your .htaccess file

Update your .htaccess file to bypass redirection to the Wordpress controller.

It’s important to note that if you place any rules within the BEGIN/END Wordpress block they will be overwrtitten.

	RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
	RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

Add a new page in WordPress

Add a new page within WordPress and set the Permalink with the same URI as the page created otherwise the handle_404() class in classes.php will return a 404 status and your page will not be indexed by search engines.

Permalink: http://www.your-web-site.com/test

Now fire up your browser and verify everything works properly.
