Move your Outlook Mail to Windows Mail

If you want to use Windows Mail instead of Outlook you can import the messages directly into Windows Mail without any 3rd party utilities. I haven’t tried this without outlook installed but I don’t think it will work since the import process asks for your MAPI profile.

Fire up Windows Mail
File/Import/Messages
Select Microsoft Outlook
Select the Outlook profile (you may have a different name)
Choose the folders you wish to import or keep the default and the import will include all folders
Click Next
Once the import has completed all of your Outlook folders will be in the Imported Folder folder
